Awana Children's Club
Awana 2021-22 will begin on Sunday, September 12, 2020
Please note that we have changed our club days from Wednesday night to Sunday afternoons.
AWANA HAS BEGUN TO MEET! With Covid, we have a few restrictions. Here is what we are doing to keep the kids and workers safe:
Kids who are 5 years old and older (as well as leaders) must wear a mask.
Temperatures will be taken with an infrared (non-contact) thermometer of each leader and child as they arrive at Awana. If someone is running a fever, they will be set home. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home.
Games will be played with plastic food serving gloves to not pass germs from the game equipment.
Each room is sanitized (tables, chairs, etc.)
While the temperature is hot (probably the month of September), games will be played indoors.
Awana is a unique children's club that incorporates learning scriptures, working as a team and fun. Awana has three segments to the club: game time (a fun time of working as a team with unique games on the Awana game court); handbook time (each child works in a handbook that consists of scriptures and fun activities and earns awards); and council time (singing, Bible story and awards). This year, we will not be offering Puggles (2 year old boys & girls). There are four clubs to our Awana: Cubbies (3 & 4 year old boys and girls); Sparks (kindergarten-2nd grade boys and girls); and Truth & Training (3rd-7th grade boys & girls). Each club has their own uniforms and handbooks geared toward that age group. Awana meets on Sundays from 2:30 - 4:15 p.m. (September-April).
During the summer months we have "Summer Nights." These are special nights that are scheduled once a month (June & July). During these nights, we begin with a meal, then we play games and end with ice cream. The first "Summer Night" is in June which is "Get Wet Night" (we eat pizza and play games getting wet to keep cool). The last "Summer Night" is in July which is "Ice Night" (we eat pizza and play games with ice to help keep cool).
